What Are Elements?

Used to Activate Infusion Boons

Elements are essences attached to all non-Infusion Boons and can be seen on the top right corner of their icon.

Each Boon has a corresponding element and you obtain it when selected. On their own, elements do not have an impact on gameplay until they activate an Infusion Boon.

How to Activate Infusion Boons

Most Infusion Boons have a flat element requirement. When this requirement is met, its effects are immediately activated.

Some Infusion Boons do not have this requirement but instead scale with the amount of elements you currently have. If you have one of these Boons, stacking a specific element becomes an effective strategy.

One such example is Hestia's Slow Cooker that increases your damage for every Fire element on hand.

Elements are initially locked behind the Divination of the Elements Incantation. This is one of the Incantations unlocked in the early game, and only require 5 Psyche.

Selecting Boons

The primary and most consistent way of getting elements is by choosing Boons from room rewards.

It's recommended to prioritize having a build with good synergy over stacking elements when it comes to Boon selection, especially when you don't have an Infusion Boon ready yet.

Excruciating Creation Boon

Boon	Effect
Excruciating Creation ( Chaos )	For the next 5 Encounter(s), you take additional damage. Afterward, gain Earth, Water, Air, Fire, Aether.

Aside from taking regular Boons, you can earn a good amount of elements through the Excruciating Creation Boon from Chaos.

What Are Infusion Boons?

Rare and Powerful Boons

Infusion Boons are significantly more powerful Boons that have an element requirement to activate.

They are not guaranteed to appear in every run, so it's recommended to only stack elements when you already have one. Always prioritize having a build with good synergy.

Wispy Wiles ( Aphrodite )	While you have at least 4 Air Boons, you may Dodge any damage.
Coarse Grit ( Demeter )	While you have at least 6 Earth Boons, you cannot take more damage per hit than the limit.
Slow Cooker ( Hestia )	Your Attacks and Specials gain Power for each Fire Boon you have.
Water Fitness ( Poseidon )	While you have at least 4 Water Boons, gain Max Life.
Self Healing ( Apollo )	While you have at least 3 Fire Boons, whenever you take damage, restore some Life.
Martial Art ( Hephaestus )	Your Attack and Special deal more damage for each Earth Boon you have.
Proper Upbringing ( Hera )	While you have at least 3 Earth Boons, all your Common Boons gain Rarity.
Air Quality ( Zeus )	While you have at least 5 Air Boons, you can never deal less damage than the limit.

How to Check Elements

Open the Boon Info Menu

You can check the number of elements you currently have on your run by pressing Left on the D-Pad (B on keyboard).

Once the Boon Info menu is open, you can find a row of icons just above your Boons that indicate the elements in your possession.
