Frinos is one of the familiars that can be unlocked in Hades 2. See how to unlock Frinos as a familiar and what its abilities are, as well as what confiding in Frinos does in our guide!
Frinos as a Familiar
How to Unlock Frinos as Familiar
You will need to defeat Hecate at the end of Erebus and concoct the Faith of the Familiar Spirits incantation.
Do note that several attempts to defeat Hecate may be required for you to unlock the incantation, given that she gives out various incantations to Melinoe when defeated.
From there, you will be able to acquire Witch's Delight and feed it to Frinos so you could acquire the frog as a familiar.
Frinos Abilities

As with all familiars, Frinos has unique abilities of his own that can help you progress in the game.
Frinos' utility varies from increasing your max life in battle, dealing damage to foes, and shielding you from incoming projectiles.
Compel Shades Using Frinos
One of Frinos' unique abilities is Soul Bond, which gives you a +25% chance to manifest Lone Shades for each night.
This means that your chances to encounter and conjure Lone Shades will increase using the Tablet of Peace.
This ability gets upgraded per rank, allowing you more opportunities to compel more shades and gain Psyche.
Automatically Compel Shades
You will also be able to approach a Shade and hit the interact button to have Frinos compel a shade for you without playing the minigame.
Who is Frinos?
Just a Regular Frog
Frinos is just a normal frog that likes to hang out in Melinoe's spawn area. There is seemingly nothing noteworthy about Frinos, and he functions mostly as a pet to Melinoe.
What Does Confide in Frinos Do?
Gives Additional Dialogue
Confiding in Frinos unlocks additional dialogue lines for Melinoe. It serves almost as a way for Melinoe to reflect on her actions and mistakes in her previous attempt to reach Olympus.
