How to Beat the Deep Serpent

Focus on Sop-Spindles First

Hades 2 - Take out Sop-Spindles.png
Sop-Spindles aren't the most powerful enemies, but they are very annoying if not dealt with immediately. This encounter makes it particularly harder to evade the Deep Serpent's attacks if they are not killed off immediately.

Do not Sprint mindlessly

Deep Serpent has a wide AoE attack that covers almost the entire field. It is not recommended to suddenly Sprint, because you might find yourself in the targeted trajectory of the bombs. Instead maintain a level head, and only head to the area where there are no flashing red circles.

Focus on Armor-Breaking Boons

The Deep Serpent is difficult only because of its Armor. Equipping boons like Molten Touch deal bonus damage specifically to Armor. Likewise, some of Hestia's boons apply extra Scorch damage to armored enemies.

Melting Comet for Armor Break

Melting Comet is one of the most broken Boons against Armored enemies because it completely shatters 80% of the total in 1 attack. Pairing this with Split Fire to create an attack pattern similar to Deep Serpent, gives you a wider attack range than the single shots of the Umbral Flames.

All Daedalus Hammer Upgrades

Hephaestus Boons for Blast Damage

Other than Volcanic Strike and Volcanic Flourish, it is recommended to get the Molten Touch boon if you do not have the Melting Comet hammer upgrade because it passively increases damage done to armored enemies.

Hephaestus Boons and Gameplay Tips

Hestia Boons for Passive Scorch against Armor

Flammable Coating is a Hestia boon that boosts your Scorch damage specifically to Armor. It is also a good alternative if you wish to use a different weapon and thus will not be able to use the Melting Comet hammer upgrade.

Hestia Boons and Gameplay Tips

Aphrodite Boons for to inflict Weak

Though most of Deep Serpernt's attacks are long-range, it still has decent melee attacks at short-range. Go for Aphrodite boons when you can to inflict Weak on Deep Serpent when you attack it up close.
