Hades 2 - Cerberus Boons and Gameplay Tips

How to Beat Infernal Cerberus

Try to Stay Behind Cerberus

Cerberus' Attacks are mostly from its front, since its attacks are mostly breath or claw-themed. Staying behind Cerberus allows you to deal damage while not having to worry too much about dodging.

Cerberus also has a pretty large hitbox, so if you are using a weapon with a long range, you can attack from a distance to avoid Cerberus' melee attacks.

Find Unmarked Areas

During the later stages of the game when Cerberus basically covers half the screen with the erupting circles, you can find unmarked areas towards the edge of the arena.

While Cerberus is doing this attack, focus on dodging instead of attacking, since these attacks deal high amounts of damage.

Familiarize Yourself With Cerberus' Attacks

While having good Boons and additional HP or Armor definitely makes the fight easier, it all boils down to your ability to choose when to dodge and when to attack.

The Infernal Cerberus, like all the other enemies in this game have a wind-up animation before each attack, so time your dashes when you know an attack is coming to minimize the risk of getting hit.

Moves Are Used Together

Hades 2 - Cerberus Combo.png

Cerberus, unlike the first two bosses has a habit of using two to three of its moves at a time. Each move has a different timing, so you still have a short window to dodge and run to safety.

Even during the later stages of the fight, Cerberus will use its moves together.

Moves Get Stronger When Cerberus Loses HP

Hades 2 - Buffed Attack.png

As the fight goes on, you may notice that some of Cerberus' moves become stronger, in the sense that it covers a larger area, or the attack is now repeated multiple times.

The erupting circles, for example, will start off only as 1-3 circles at a time, but during the later stages of the fight, Cerberus will begin conjuring circles that cover most of the arena.
