Eris, Strife Incarnate, is the second boss of the Surface in Hades 2, appearing at the end of the Rift of Thessaly. Learn how to counter all of Eris' attacks, and the easiest way to beat her.
List of Contents
Eris can be fought as the second boss on the Surface region, just at the end of the Rift of Thessaly. She primarily deals with ranged attacks, ranging from fast moving bullets to slow AoE bombs.
Her weapon of choice is the Adamant Rail Exagryph, an Infernal Arm used by Zagreus during the first game.
Eris' bullet attacks are aimed in front of her, so make it a habit to stay behind her during the fight.
Once Eris starts firing her bullets, you can easily dash behind her and continuously attack, since she moves slowly while she is firing.
The damage buffs Eris receives later on in the fight is nothing to scoff at, since the damage buff stacks.
Make sure you have enough HP and Armor before the boss battle to ensure that you don't get knocked out by her unexpectedly.
While having good Boons and additional HP or Armor definitely makes the fight easier, it all boils down to your ability to choose when to dodge and when to attack.
Eris, like all the other enemies in this game have a wind-up animation before each attack, so time your dashes when you know an attack is coming to minimize the risk of getting hit.
When Eris reaches certain HP levels, she will enter a shielded state, and attack using an explosive shell aimed near her.
Once the shell explodes, Eris' shield breaks, and she receives a +100% Damage Boost until she is defeated. She does this several times, and the damage increase stacks.
The boss arena has several barrels near the edges that explode when attacked.
The oil barrels then turn into burning oil pools after it explodes, and can limit your movement, since it deals damage if you run through it.
