City of Ephyra Overview

City of Ephyra Environment

Rushing to the aid of her Olympian relatives, Melinoe starts her journey in the City of Ephyra, a Surface city filled with the dead. Like the Fields of Mourning, the City of Ephyra also has a different map layout, with all locations radiating from the central plaza.

To progress, Melinoe must free the trapped shades in each location. When freed, these shades will damage enemies in an encounter, much like the Necromantic Influence incantation.

How to Reach City of Ephyra

To reach and fully explore Ephyra, you need to complete the following incantations:

• Permeation of Witching-Wards
• Unraveling of a Fateful Bond
• Summoning a Colony of Bats

Permeation of Witching-Wards

Warded for her protection, Melinoe must first unlock the Surface path of the game. Hecate will warn Melinoe about the curse her lineage has with the Surface, but this can be solved by the next incantation.

Unraveling of a Fateful Bond

Melinoe's chthonic curse will hinder the duration of her stay on the Surface. Collect Moss on the Surface, and receive Origin Seeds from Chaos to start your progress to complete Unraveling of a Fateful Bond.

Summoning a Colony of Bats

Medea

Medea is the Allied NPC that Melinoe can encounter while running through City of Ephyra. She offers boons that enfeeble foes, or have them drop beneficial items upon death.

Guardian of City of Ephyra, Polyphemus

Blocking the path to the Rift of Thessaly, Melinoe must fight and slip past Polyphemus to avoid getting eaten. Have Melinoe exploit his giant size and find openings amongst the shockwaves of the Cyclopean Shepherd's attacks.

Warden of City of Ephyra, Satyr Champion

Satyr Champion

The Satyr Champion is the miniboss you may encounter in the City of Ephyra. Armed with a shield and crossbow, the Satyr Champion can be a challenging miniboss to fight early on.

We recommend defeating the other enemies it spawns with first, and saving the burst of damage from the destroyed Pylon for the Satyr Champion.
