Encounters with Heracles on the surface often have similar challenges that Nemesis wagers in the Underworld.

Wager Battle

Similar to Nemesis, you might encounter Heracles in specific rooms as he challenges you to a wager battle.

In this event, you'll have to earn more Gold Crowns than Heracles by slaying more enemies in the field.

If you succeed, you'll earn the designated reward in the room. If you lose, you don't get to keep the reward.

Who is Heracles?

Mightiest of Men

Heracles makes his first physical appearance in Hades 2, and is described as the Mightiest of Men in the game. He is shown as arrogant and proud when first meeting up with Melinoe in Ephyra.

Heracles Backstory

Arrogant Warrior, Dismissive to Melinoe

As he first appears in Hades 2, Heracles shows no sign of respect towards Melinoe when they come into contact with one another. He was arrogant and confident that he alone could handle what was tasked to him.

Although Heracles did not make an appearance in the first game, he was briefly mentioned by some characters like Theseus and Zagreus.

Heracles Mythology

Mightiest Greek Hero

Heracles is considered as one of the greatest heroes in Greek Mythology. He was a demigod, and sired by the god Zeus through his coupling with Alcmene.

His heroics and bravery can be explored in greater detail through the series of labors he accomplished called Labors of Heracles.
