Though Schelemeus and Skelly may look similar and have similar roles as a training dummy, it is still up for debate if they are the same character.

Skelly Jokes About His Past as Schelemeus

In Hades 1, Skelly tells Zagreus about his past as Schelemeus, a former captain of an Athenian fleet.

Zagreus believes his story until Skelly bursts out laughing, saying he made it all up. This highlights the ambiguity of both characters' pasts.

Hades 2 - Resident Training Master

Schelemeus bears the title of Training Master, but he essentially acts as a training dummy that you can practice your moves on and see your damage.

He respawns once his Life runs out so feel free to smack him as many times as you want.

Gives the Luckier Tooth Keepsake

You can unlock the Luckier Tooth Keepsake by gifting Nectar to Schelemeus. It restores Life automatically when you run out of health, making it one of the better defensive Keepsakes to bring on your runs.
