Homer is the narrator who describes Melinoe's journey and progress in Hades 2. Read on to learn who Homer is, as well as his backstory in Hades 2.
List of Contents
Homer is the all-seeing, all-knowing narrator of the game who chronicles the moments of Melinoe's journey. You will often hear his narration when interacting with objects of interest.
Homer was also present during the events of the first game, narrating Zagreus progress throughout his attempt to escape the Underworld.
It should be noted that Zagreus never refers to Homer by his real name, only that he acknowledges the existence of the one narrating his journey.
In Hades 2, there is a flashback wherein Melinoe was playing hide and seek with Hecate. As Homer describes Melinoe's attempt to find the witch, the young daughter of Hades retorts back to the narrator by acknowledging his presence.
Baffled by her response, Homer continues his narration and pretends that he does not know who Melinoe is referring to.
During your progression, Melinoe will continue to acknowledge and converse with Homer throughout her journey in the game.
Homer was known as the author who wrote the Iliad and Odyssey, both of which are famously known Greek epics that laid the foundation of Greek culture and mythology.
The inclusion of Homer as the narrator of the Hades games may be attributed to the fact that his body of work encompassed a large deal involving Greek epics and the clashes between men and gods.
