Root-Stalker is one of the minibosses you face in Erebus in Hades 2. See how to beat the Root-Stalker along with the other enemies that spawn with it in this guide!

Utilize Sprinting
Sprinting is a new mechanic in Hades 2. Rather than just pressing Dodge, you can now sprint at full speed when you hold down the button. Most projectiles in Hades 2 will hit if you only rely on dodging them instead of running the other way.
Focus on the Root First
The Root is the only other enemy in the Root-Stalker miniboss fight. It will try to sneak an attack from under you or try to stun you with its AoE attack. It is recommended that you deal with the root first before taking on the Root-Stalker.

Hell Splitter for 300 Base damage
The two Daedalus Hammer upgrades that bring out the most damage output from the Moonstone Axe are the Hell Splitter and the Unyielding Slash. Even with the Hell Splitter alone, the damage output becomes base 300 which is more than enough for most enemies.
Hermes Boons for Faster Attacks
Because of its size, the Moonstone Axe is a bit slow to use. Equipping Hermes boons can help remedy this by speeding up your attacks to counter the weight of the Axe.

Hephaestus Boons for Blast Damage
Despite already having a base attack of 300 with Hell Splitter, we recommend the Molten Touch boon for additional Armor-Break damage, as well as Volcanic Strike and Flourish for blast damage.

Demeter Boons for Freeze
Having Demeter Boons to inflict Freeze with your Cast is also a good way of stopping the root from moving too much. This will make an easier target of both the Root and the Root-Stalker.
