Intel is used to research equipment and can be earned by leveling up or farming enemy outposts in Dune: Awakening. Learn more about how to farm Intel points efficiently and what to do with Intel points!
List of Contents

Enemy Outposts contain Intel Points that players can collect. Note that the Intel Points earned for each post vary depending on its location.
Intel Points earned in farther outposts, such as in Jabal Eifrit locations and Eastern Shield Wall, provide more than those in earlier areas like Hagga Basin South and Vermillius Gap.
Interactive Map and List of Locations
| Area | Intel Points |
|---|---|
| Hagga Basin South | 3 Intel Points |
| Vermillius Gap | 5 Intel Points |
| Jabal Eifrit Locations Hagga Rift |
10 Intel Points |
| Shield Wall The O'odham Sheol |
20 Intel Points |
The best pathing for clearing outposts is by going through them by region.
Outpost difficulty and rewards scale with the region, so gradually move from Hagga Basin South, followed by Vermillius Gap, onto Hagga Rift, and into the later areas.

Another way to get Intel is by leveling up your character. You will naturally get Intel by playing the game.
Complete contracts and kill enemies to get XP. Contracts provide various rewards, including XP, Solari, and other items, whereas killing enemies will provide decent XP sources, materials, and blood.
XP Farming Guide: How to Level Up Fast

We suggest researching and crafting stronger weapons to help clear enemy camps and outposts faster. Also, try to look out for Unique Schematics, as these items have higher DPS over normal items within the same product, and they have unique passives in combat.
All Unique Weapons and Schematic Locations
Research is an essential mechanic to progress through the game. In the Research menu, you will use Intel to learn Schematics of various items. Research Schematics unlock different Item Recipes, which you will be using to fabricate equipment. There are two factors to consider when unlocking schematics: Research Trees and Research Product
| Research Tree | Description |
|---|---|
| Water Discipline is a Research Tree that covers all items for farming Water as a resource in the game. This tree covers items such as Stillsuits, Cisterns, Literjons, Dew Reapers, and other items. | |
| Combat is a Research Tree that covers all items for fighting enemies. This tree covers weapons, armor sets, shields, and other equipment. | |
| Construction is a Research Tree that covers all items for creating your base, utility tools, and other buildables. This tree includes Gathering Tools, Fabricators, Refineries, Power Packs, and other items for base building. | |
| Exploration is a Research Tree that covers all items for exploring Arrakis. This tree includes Spice-related Consumables, Deployables, Cartography and Surveying Tools, and Utility Tools for exploration. | |
| Vehicles is a Research Tree covering all items for creating your vehicles. This tree includes Sandbikes, Buggy vehicles, Ornithopters, their attachments, and all vehicle repair and deployment tools. | |
| Uniques is a Research Tree for rare items that can be collected throughout the map or bought on the Exchange. Players can only research these items in safe areas, requiring the Schematic to be retrieved first. Note: These items use Imperial Points. One Unique Schematic counts as one Imperial Point, so you must get another of the same Schematic to fabricate the item again. |
Items are sorted into six classifications in the Research menu so players can find items more easily.
| Research Tier | Description |
|---|---|
| Salvage products are equipment fabricated primarily with Salvaged Metal. These items are mainly for basic equipment during the early game, as these are quite accessible. | |
| Copper products are equipment crafted using Copper, which can be seen in Hagga Basin South and beyond. | |
| Iron products are items made with Iron Ores, which can be found starting from Vermillius Gap onwards. | |
| Steel products are fabricated from Steel, a combination of Iron ingots and Carbon Ores found in Hagga Rift and Jabal Eifrit up to the later areas of the game. | |
| Aluminum products are created from Aluminum Ores, and are considered mid-to-late game items. These ores can be located in the Shield Wall. | |
| Duraluminum products are late-game items crafted from Aluminum Ores and Jasmium Crystals, which are mainly found in Sheol radioactive pools. | |
| Plastanium products are made from Titanium Ore and Stravidium Mass, which can be found in the Deep Desert. These are items way into the late game and are highly regarded as end-game equipment. |
Researched equipment in the game follows a straightforward progression system, with higher quality materials used to craft better equipment throughout the game.
