Trooper Gameplay

Mobile Gunplay

Trooper Fight
The Trooper’s Skill Trees focus on dynamic movement and gunplay. Pairing your movement with rapid-fire ranged weapons or shotguns allow you to take on multiple enemies in close range.

Additionally, you gain access to various grenades and deployable machinery designed to disrupt enemy movement and control the battlefield.

Trooper Tips

Movement Is Your Best Weapon

Trooper Shigawire Claw
The Trooper thrives most when leveraging your movement to defeat enemies. Use your Shigawire Claw to outmaneuver enemies and swiftly navigate the map, gaining quick access to strategic positions.

It can also be paired with other movement abilities such as the Swordmaster's Knee Charge and Planetologist's Suspensor Pad to further improve mobility.

Collect Salvaged Metal For Light Darts

The Trooper can go through ammunition quickly. Make sure to collect all the Salvaged Metal you can, especially in the early game, to make sure you can always craft more darts.

You Can Go Up Close

Trooper Fight
Unlike your ranged counterpart, the Mentat, Troopers can use a run-and-gun playstyle wherein you charge into battle, guns blazing.

Explore Different Guns

The Trooper has access to a variety of weapons that can aid in close-ranged gunfights. Explore different types of weapons and stick to what works best for you!

Should You Start with Trooper?

Great Starting Class for Beginners

This class has a fairly straightforward playstyle. It is a great starting class for beginners, providing a solid foundation to build on other classes. Its run-and-gun archetype also gives beginners a decent margin of error, as the class can specifically boost body shot damage with ranged weapons. The starting skill, Shigawire Claw, is a great mobility tool to initiate or escape fights.

While the starting skill offers great utility early on, the quest to unlock the Trooper Skill Trees becomes available fairly early in the game. Thus, you will not miss out on much if you choose another starting class that better suits your preferred playstyle.
