What Faction Should You Join?
Whichever You Think is More Fun
There is no clear gameplay advantage to choosing one faction over another, so pick the one whose lore sounds like the most fun for you! However, keep in mind that joining a guild requires you to pledge your loyalty to the faction to which the guild belongs. Plan which guild you want to join before choosing a faction, as you can only change sides once!
Faction Benefits
Unique Schematics Through Faction Vendors
Pledging allegiance to a faction will grant you access to items unique to each faction. These include faction-exclusive furniture sets, armor variants, vehicle variants, and weapon variants!
Landsraad Buffs
All the faction members of the house winning the weekly Landsraad challenges can benefit from powerful universal buffs chosen by the faction's leading guild.
Contracts Based on Faction Alignment
There are specific contracts given only when you are aligned with a certain faction. This gives players a unique playthrough experience by being able to choose which contracts to complete based on their faction. Contracts are also a great source of Solaris, which further rewards players to do contracts.
How to Join a Faction?
Talk to One of the Recruiters in The Anvil
Travel to The Anvil in the Eastern Vermillius Gap either through your own mode of transportation or through the taxi service available in all tradeposts. Talk to one of the recruiters depending on which faction you prefer to join. This is also related to the Join a House main quest.
Complete Faction Quests
The recruiters will offer you a contract you must complete before you officially join a faction. The contract will have the Faction's insignia on it when you view it on your Journal.

House Atreides
Rooted in strong values such as honor and justice, those in House Atreides are often seen as noble people who approach issues with integrity, compassion, and strategic foresight. Rather than ruling with fear, they earn respect through trust. However, this makes them vulnerable to those willing to take advantage of their kindness.
House Harkonnen
House Harkonnen is a powerful and infamous House in the Dune universe. Ruling over others through overwhelming might and fear, those in House Harkonnen are known to utilize cunning and cutthroat political tactics to get what they want.
What Are Factions?
Great Houses Fighting For Power
Factions are groups you can affiliate with in Dune: Awakening. Accomplish certain tasks while representing your faction to gain more influence in the Landsraad.
Forms the Landsraad
The Landsraad is a council where Factions compete for influence through votes. By completing specific tasks for houses, you, your Guild, and your Faction can earn their support, bringing you closer to casting a decree that triggers unique, server-wide effects for your faction.
Securing Objectives With Your Guild
Once a faction is victorious in securing votes at the end of the Landsraad Term, the Guild Leaders responsible for accomplishing tasks will vote on the decree.
The faction you align with is directly linked to your Guild, making it crucial for your Guild to play an active role in securing objectives set by the Landsraad. This connection adds an extra layer of political strategy and dynamic discourse within and between Factions.
