Dune Awakening - Spice Farming Guide

To farm spice in Dune: Awakening, players will have to head towards Spice Blows and collect Spice from the resulting Spice Sand patches. Check out a guide on how to farm Spice, as well as what Spice is for in this guide!

How to Farm Spice

Head Towards Spice Blows

Spice Blow

The best way to farm Spice is to head towards any Spice Blows that you see. These are the large purple plumes of smoke that erupt from the sands of Arrakis, that leave behind patches of Spice Sand that can be harvested for Spice.

Use a Static Compactor in Early Game

While you can collect from the Spice Sand by hand, this is highly inefficient. Instead, use a Static Compactor to quickly clump up the Spice Sand by shooting the compactor at the ground, to form piles of Spice for collecting.

Craft a Sand Crawler Later On

Later into the game, the most efficient tool for Spice becomes the Sand Crawler, as it automatically gathers Spice when driving over Spice Sand. You can unlock Sand Crawlers under the Vehicles tab of the Research menu.

Use Thumpers When Farming

As you gather Spice, your movements and tools will alert Sandworms to your location, causing them to move towards you. You can track their proximity by looking at the Sandworm Indicator in the bottom-half of the screen.

To farm Spice safely, deploy a Thumper further away from the Spice Sand patch you want to collect from. This item will distract Sandworms from your actual location, allowing you more leeway to collect Spice.

Spice is used as a key component of several crafting recipes, especially the late-game ones that provide you with the most stats and power. Be sure to gather as much as you can to keep crafting things that you need!
