You can lose everything by dying from a Sandworm or Coriolis Storm in Dune: Awakening. See Dune: Awakening's death mechanic, its penalties, and if you can recover your items in this guide!
List of Contents

Death in Dune: Awakening is not permanent, as the game will let you respawn your character at the expense of your potentially losing items.
Be careful, especially when crossing sand areas and when sandstorms are approaching, as dying to sandworms and Coriolis storms have extra penalties.

If you die from being eaten by a sandworm or deplete all your health during a Coriolis storm, you will lose all your items permanently.
Avoid this by staying away from the sandworm's path and sheltering yourself in shielded bases and establishments when a sandstorm passes.

If you are riding a sandbike and get eaten by a sandworm for the first time, the game will let you have the option to save your sandbike.
All your items except the Vehicle Backup Tool will disappear upon respawning. However, you can't retrieve these lost items. Note that this may only trigger once in the game.

Dying from enemies and other players will leave your items on the ground.
While players may loot your body for items, you can recover your items and equipment or what's left in the location where you died.

Losing all your health will not let you die automatically. There is a small window for you to revive yourself when you get knocked out, and it can trigger multiple times.
Note that taking enough damage before respawning will cause you to die in the game, so take cover before attempting to self-revive.
