Water Guide

Purifying blood, harvesting water from dew, and using Fremen Deathstills and Windtraps are the best ways to farm water in Dune Awakening. Learn how to collect water and how to store it in this guide!

Collecting Water

Purify Blood to Get Water

The first method for collecting water is by purifying blood. Blood is collected from enemies, making it relatively abundant in Arrakis. A Blood Purifier then processes blood to collect water.

Extract Blood from Enemies

If you have a Blood Extractor, you can collect blood from enemies when you defeat them in combat. If blood is available for extraction, you will see an icon above enemy corpses.

Some weapons, such as the Kaleff's Drinker, provide unique passives that aid blood extraction. Kaleff's Drinker can be used like a Blood Extractor, saving slots for other weapons.

Use a Blood Purifier to Convert It to Water

Blood Purifier

After blood extraction, blood sacks can be processed in the blood purifier. Up to 6,000 ml of Blood can be lined up for processing.

While this takes time, this is one of the most consistent ways to get water for early to mid-game in Dune: Awakening.

Harvest Water from Dew Patches

Dew Patches

Collecting dew from plants is one of the best ways to farm water in the mid game due to being relatively accessible with no high investment required.

You need a Dew Reaper and a Literjon to start farming water with this method.

Dew Reaper

Dew Reapers are tools used to harvest water from Dew Patches. These are extremely useful for filling Literjons, as they can store water for later use.

Take note that the tool's effectiveness depends on the time of day. Under the harsh sun, dew patches have less water than in the evening. Only collect water at night.

Set Up Fremen Deathstills

Fremen Deathstills are efficient water sources, as they provide 25,000 ml every hour. These are excellent tools in the mid to late game and are currently one of the best ways of collecting water.

Use Windtraps to Get Water While AFK

Windtrap

Windtraps are machinery that can be constructed at your base to collect water. These Windtraps will automate your water farming as long as you have power in the base.

Windtraps are crucial in the later stages of the game, so try to build multiple Windtraps once you get access to its schematic to get ahead in the game.

Storing Water

Use Literjon to Transport Water

Literjon Transportation

The Literjon is one of the most valuable tools for farming water in the early game, as it will let you transport water collected when exploring Arrakis.

The resource will be stored in the Literjon when water is collected with a Dew Reaper. While it provides a relatively low capacity, its portability is especially useful in the early game when Windtraps are still unavailable.

Create Cisterns to Store in Base

Cistern

Cisterns are the main storage containers for water in Dune: Awakening. These containers have large water capacities, making them essential in farming water.

We recommend crafting a Cistern as soon as possible to start your farming. Prioritize storage first before investing in Windtraps, as you can efficiently get the resource from the Blood Purifier early on.
