You can build up to three bases in Dune: Awakening. Learn more about how to build a base, how many bases you can have, what base materials are needed, and more in this guide!
List of Contents

A total of three sub-fief consoles can be owned, and a maximum of two starter consoles is allowed.
Use them efficiently by placing each other in strategic locations, and make sure not to put them close to each other. This will save you time exploring areas so you can rest nearby afterward.

It is best to build a base on solid land, in a good location, considering Arrakis's different points of interest. You should not build in the Deep Desert as you will be subjected to harsh weather, sandworms, and even other players.
Note that you cannot build a base on top of another player's . Consider whether you want others near your base.
We recommend setting up your base near a scavenger camp. In the early game, this is especially helpful for players as these camps will provide a good source of blood that can be turned into water for hydration.

When building a base, placing the necessary structures will cost you materials. Keep track of them, as you don't want an unfinished base before other enemies discover your location.
In case of low resources, we recommend building a smaller base first that will protect you rather than an incomplete base.

The Sub-fief Console is necessary when creating a base, as you can't make one without it. Claim land with this device, and you will see an outline of the area you can build on.
Note that starter Sub-fief Consoles cannot be expanded. Upon building advanced versions, however, you can expand your territory with staking units and use these for horizontal and vertical expansion.
How to Get and Craft Sub-Fief Console

Players will immediately have access to the CHOAM building pieces at the start of the game. These starter-building pieces allow you to build a base early on.
Later on, however, you may align yourself with various factions to unlock your base's different building pieces and architectural styles.
List of All Building Sets and Placeables
In your base, check the Sub-fief Console for the power usage under the General Settings and see if the power is maintained. If the power exceeds the maximum capacity, the base automatically shuts down and loses power.
Add Generators and Wind Turbines to add more power capacity to your base. Note that Generators require fuel cells, while Wind Turbines need to be lubricated with Lubricants from Chemical Refineries.

Solido Projections allow you to create bases quickly using blueprints in the game. You can make a layout of your base and build it using the Solido Replicator to move your base from one location to another.
Note that you will still need to farm materials using the Solido Replicator, as each building piece will need raw materials.
How to Get and Craft Solido Replicator
When moving bases, keep the most essential items first and use storage items and vehicles to transport them efficiently to the new location.
Ensure to reduce the number of trips you take from one place to another to protect yourself from danger. You are exposed to Arrakis, its creatures, and people, so being efficient in traveling is essential.
After transporting your items, remove the Sub-fief Console. This will officially indicate that the land is not your base anymore. This will leave your previous place to decay over time.

Shields are essential to protect your base from dangers, especially from other players. Please note that shields will require power to keep running, so it is ideal to produce more than you consume.

Coriolis Storms are some of Dune's most dangerous weather occurrences: Awakening. Base shields prevent you from taking damage as long as they are up. Make sure to monitor your power constantly to have the base shield up.
The Emperor will take notice of advanced bases and ask for taxes to maintain base shields. Not paying taxes will cause your shield to go down and your base to be exposed.
Some quests will provide blueprints as rewards for players to use later in the game. Do quests to create thematic base styles from Dune itself.
List of All Contracts (Quests)

Blueprints can be used in trading so that players can get them through NPCs or even from other players. Share your builds with other players and contribute to the culture of Arrakis in the game.

Bases protect you from harsh weather and climates, such as the Coriolis Storm and dangerous exposure to the sun. You are also protected from other players and enemies in your base.
You can protect your precious equipment, resources, and other items in your base. With a base having shields in the game, no enemy can take them from you.
Building a base of your own is an essential step to survive. Having a place where you can safely stay and save up resources is crucial in this vast and treacherous world.
