Lower Cardinal Sin's Defense
Lower Cardinal Sin's Defense to make Physical Attacks deal more damage, allowing Ruff and Hero to quickly burst down Cardinal Sin's HP.
Maribel can learn the Skill Sap by reaching Level 3 Proficiency on the Mage Vocation.
Use Dazzle on Cardinal Sin
Most of Cardinal Sin's skills deal high damage to multiple targets, making it difficult to keep your party healthy at all times if his Skills do hit the target.
To counter this, use Maribel's Dazzle on Cardinal Sin to increase the chances of him missing. Dazzle persists for a few turns, allowing Mirabel to cast other skills after each Dazzle cast.
How to Learn Dazzle and Effects
Do Not Attack When Cardinal Sin Lets Loose
Cardinal Sin's Let Loose ability gives him an attack that restores HP based on damage dealt, making the fight harder if he recovers a lot of HP.
Once Cardinal Sin gets worked up, make sure to increase your Team's Defense by casting skills like Buff to reduce the damage from Cardinal Sin, and subsequently reducing the healing he receives.

Play Ruff as Priest if Struggling
While Ruff can provide great additional damage when played as a Sailor, having a team with three damage dealers can be unbalanced, and make healing be an issue, especially against bosses.
If you are struggling against Cardinal Sin, you can play Ruff as a Priest instead, to give him access to Healing and Support Skills.
