Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined (DQ7)

How to Beat Cumulus Vex

Add to Watchlist

How to Beat Cumulus Vex

Cumulus Vex is a boss encountered in Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined (DQ7). See how to beat this boss, recommended equipment for the fight, and the boss' information here.

How to Beat Cumulus Vex

Prioritize Sky Fry Summons

Throughout the fight, Cumulus Vex will summon Sky Fries to aid him in combat. While these do not have much HP, their threat lies in their ability to cast multi-target skills that can damage the entire party.

Prioritize defeating the Sky Fries by using Multi-target skills to also deal damage to Cumulus Vex.

Increase Wind Resistance

Cumulus Vex and the Sky Fries will all use skills that deal Wind damage. Increasing your Wind Resistance through Skills and Equipment effectively mitigates their damage, requiring you to heal less often throughout the fight.

You can use skills like Hymn of Air and use equipment like Tempest Shield to reduce incoming wind damage for your party members.

List of All Equipment

Keep Party Healthy

Since most of the damaging skills from Cumulus Vex and his summons are multi-target damaging skills, make sure to keep the party healthy to avoid having party members get downed unexpectedly.

Use Healing Skills and Healing Items to keep the party healthy. If you have designated support party members, you can use their turns to use healing items or cast healing skills for the entire party.
