Like all Dragon Quest protagonists, the Hero for DQ7 doesn't have an official canon name. The closest thing we have to a canon name for the Hero is Arus since this is the name that is used for the promotional videos for Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined.

Some other names that were given to the Hero are Auster, Hero, and Seven. Auster is the name used in other DQ media, Hero is the default name for all DQ protagonists, and Seven is the fan name since he's the hero of the 7th game.
