Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined Demo Release Date

Available as of January 7, 2026

The demo for Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined was made available on January 7, 2026. It can be played on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, and the save data from the demo can be transferred to the main game once it's fully released.

All Available Platforms and Consoles

Full Game Set to Release on February 5, 2026

DQ7R Release
The full version of Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined is set to be released on February 5, 2026. However, the Digital Deluxe edition allows players to have a two-day Early Access to the game!

Release Date and Countdown

Get a Free Maribel Costume

Maribel Demo Costume
Players who have experienced the demo will get the "Day Off Dress" costume for Maribel for free! Even if you're unsure if you'll the full game down the line, it's still worth playing the demo just in case for the free costume alone.

Demo Length and Limit

Up to Ballymolloy in the Present

Demo End
The demo will allow players to play up to the point in the story where Ballymolloy has been unlocked in the present. Thankfully, there's no time limit, so you'll be free to continue playing the demo until you're done grinding or you've done everything that you want to do.

Cannot Revisit Ballymolloy in the Past

As a note, once you return to the present and progress the story, you won't be able to access the Tablet room to visit Ballymolloy in the past. Before you leave the island, make sure to either do everything you want to do or make a separate save before leaving.

Around 8-10 Hours of Playtime

You can expect around 8-10 hours of playtime from the demo. This depends on the difficulty settings you've applied and how much you explore, but you can also finish it a lot quicker if you know what you're doing at rush to the end.

Vocation and Gold Have Limits

During the demo, there's a limit to how much Vocation Proficiency and Gold you can earn. For Vocations, you can only level them up to 4 Stars, while Gold will cap out at 10,000 G.

To download the demo, you will simply need to search for "Dragon Quest VII Reimagined Demo" on the platform of your choosing. It should show up as one of the top results, and you'll just need to select and download it to gain access to the demo.

However, for the Switch versions of the game, you will need to visit the full game's store page itself to select the option to download the demo. Also, as a note, this is an alternate search option for the Steam and PS5 versions as well.
