A team of Data and Virus Type Digimon is recommended. Use Character Reversal on Vulcanusmon’s left arm to make it weak to Data attacks. Clockmon can remove buffs with Chrono Breaker, while Drimogemon and Shellmon can provide steady damage during the arm phase.
Once Vulcanusmon becomes vulnerable to attacks, switch to your Virus Type Digimon. Deltamon’s Triple Forces deals heavy damage against Vulcanusmon’s Null weakness, while Veggiemon and Gekomon can provide reliable support and sustain for your team.
Reversal Strategy for Vaccine Team
If you have a stronger team of Vaccine Type Digimon with Earth or Null skills, you can cast Character Reversal on Volcanusmon to make it vulnerable to Vaccine attacks. This strategy lets your Vaccine team become effective and deal greater damage against Vulcanusmon.
How to Beat Vulcanusmon
Vulcanusmon is a powerful Data Type Digimon that uses mechanical arms to taunt and deal heavy damage. Follow these tips to learn how to defeat Vulanusmon effectively:
- Be Aware of Vulcanusmon's Phases
- Use Reversal on Left Arm
- Destroy an Arm to Stop Lethal Moves
- Use Cross Art: Burst on Arms
- Use Buffs and Debuffs
Be Aware of Vulcanusmon's Phases
The battle against Vulcanusmon has three repeating phases that cycle between destroying its arms and inflicting damage to Vulcanusmon until its defeated.
First Phase
The fight begins with Vulcanusmon’s Left and Right Arm. One arm will taunt your team while the other focuses on dealing damage. Vulcanusmon will also occasionally buff its SPD and ATK. Destroy both arms to move to the next phase.
Second Phase
Vulcanusmon will summon four new arms, two on each side, sharing the same attributes as before. This phase is more dangerous due to the increased number of arms and the threat of Machine Gun Punch, a powerful AoE attack. Destroy all four arms to proceed.
Third Phase
Vulcanusmon will start charging to restore its arms. Deal as much damage as possible during this window, as it’s the only time you can hit Vulcanusmon.
If you manage to deplete its white bar before the charge completes, it will only summon two arms. Otherwise, the battle will loop back to the second phase with all four arms active. Continue this cycle until Vulcanusmon’s HP is fully depleted.
Use Reversal on Left Arm
To make the most of your Data Type team, it’s recommended to cast Character Reversal on Volcanusmon’s Left Arm to make it weak to Data attacks like the Right Arm. This approach saves you from having to swap Digimon or mix Data and Vaccine Types in your starting lineup.
Destroy an Arm to Stop Lethal Moves
Vulcanusmon will use powerful single-target attacks like Grand Shake, or unleash the Machine Gun Punch, a devastating AoE attack during phase two, which can wipe out your entire team. To prevent this, quickly destroy one of its arms, as Vulcanusmon needs all arms active to perform this devastating move.
Use Cross Art: Burst on Arms
Cross Art: Burst is especially useful in this fight as it can hit multiple targets. Use it to deal significant damage to all of Vulcanusmon’s arms, particularly when all four are active.
Use Buffs and Debuffs
Use debuffs like Attack Bind and Guard Bind to lower Vulcanusmon’s attack and defense. You can also use buffs like Attack Charge and Guard Charge to strengthen your team’s offense and survivability.
Prioritize using Attack Charge on Digimon that deal the highest damage to Vulcanusmon, such as Deltamon, to maximize your overall damage output.
