Because Apollomon takes increased damage from Dark, it is advisable to bring a Digimon with special skills of this element. Taomon, for example, has its Talisman of Light Dark attack which, due to Taomon's Data attribute, deals significant damage to Apollomon.
It is also advisable to bring Digimon with resistance to Apollomon's fire attacks. This makes Digimon like SkullMeramon and Kimeramon ideal for this battle as they are resilient to Fire and have Dark Attachment Skills to attack the boss with.
Exploit: Fight Apollomon with Apollomon
Interestingly, Apollomon (boss) only has Fire and Light attacks while being immune to both Fire and Light attacks itself. This means you may also bring your own Apollomon into the fight which will be immune to all of the boss's special skills. Just equip Water elemental attachment skills to exploit the weakness.

Apollomon is a powerful Vaccine-type Digimon that deals AoE Fire damage to your team. Follow the tips below to learn how to defeat Apollomon effectively:
- Assemble Data Digimon with Ice and Dark Attacks
- Destroy Flame Sphere with Earth and Wind Attacks
- Remove Apollomon's Status Buffs
Assemble Data Digimon with Ice and Dark Attacks
Apollomon is weak to Data Digimon and its elemental weaknesses are Ice and Dark. Combining these weaknesses allows for quadruple damage when attacking Apollomon, so assemble your party accordingly before challenging it.
Destroy Flame Sphere with Earth and Wind Attacks
When Apollomon charges up its strong attack, destroy its flame sphere. The flame sphere takes increased damage from Virus Digimon and is weak to Earth and Wind attacks. Make sure you have Digimon of these attributes in your reserve when it is time to destroy the sphere.
Remove Apollomon's Status Buffs
Apollomon will apply multiple status boost effects to itself, buffing several of its stats in a single turn. Be sure to include Digimon in your team that can exploit its weaknesses, such as Taomon's Buddha Brush Flash, and remove status boost effects.

Funny enough Apollomon only has light and fire attacks so bringing your own you can't lose as Apollomon is immune is light and fire. Only his basic can hurt you.
