Apocalymon has an unknown trait, which is perfect for Merukimon's and Alphamon Ouryuken's special skills, as it becomes more effective for enemies with such personality traits. Merukimon's Null-type Special Skill, Spiritual Enchantment, comes with a DEF lowering debuff, making damage inflicted on Apocalymon higher.
On the other hand, Alphamon Ouryuken's Null-type Special Skill, Soul Digitalization, inflicts as much damage, yet with a 25% CRT Rate before Apocalymon's first turn. Have Venusmon back the team up with its LOVE YOU Special Skill, which can immediately restore a high amount of HP for the party.

Follow these tips in order to complete the The Ultimate Battle: Apocalymon Outer Dungeon mission:
Focus on Light or Null Elemental Skills
Light and Null elemental attacks are effective against Apocalymon, so it will be good to have some Special Skills or Attachment Skills of these elements equipped. Keep using these skills throughout the battle to deal significant damage to Apocalymon.
Keep Using Aegiochusmon: Holy's Lightning Shower
If you have Aegiomon in the team, have him digivolve into Aegiochusmon: Holy to deal considerable Light damage against Apocalymon. Lightning Shower can further reduce Light resistance once successfully executed. This will make Apocalymon more vulnerable to such attacks.
Have Digimons with Higher Bonds
Apocalymon has a deadly Dark elemental skill known as the Darkness-Zone, which can deal considerable damage to your party. Make sure to include Digimons with enough Bond so they can avoid getting one-hit KOs.
Put On Recovery Attachment Skills and Equipment
Use Recovery Attachment Skills and Equipment that will keep the party alive, including ones that can avoid status debuffs.
Use X-Aura in to Heal
Equip one of your Digimons with X-Aura to have a backup healer in the party. You will be facing Apocalymon's Darkness-Zone often, so it is recommended to have a Digimon who can heal everyone.
Put on Confusion-Blocking Equipment
Apocalymon will use Panic Wisp at certain points during battle, especially when given an opportunity to have two turns in a row. Put on equipment such as Multi Wall or Panic Walls to block off any Confusion effects directed to your party.
