Gain a stronger Digimon by maximizing your Digimon's levels before Digivolving in Digimon Story: Time Stranger. Check out more tips on Digivolving through this guide.

Maximizing your Digimon's levels based on the Talent cap before Digivolving them will warrant a stronger Digimon in your party. If you Digivolve your Digimon at a high level, the higher the Talent Cap will become.
Additionally, having a close Bond with your Digimon will allow them to receive more Cumulative Stats, which are the additional stats indicated beside your Digimon's base stats in the menu. You can grind for levels by defeating enemy Digimons or through load enhancement.

Strengthening a Digimon through Load Enhancement can convert more Cumulative Stats, especially if it goes through Digivolution. Feed a max-level Digimon to your main Digimon to gain more Cumulative Stats and Talent Cap.
This is a more efficient method to maximize your Digimon's potential if you are aiming for a stronger Digivolved form.
How Do Load Enhancements Work?

Converted Cumulative Stats rely heavily on the amount of Bond that you have with your Digimon. Your Digivolved Digimon will inherit more Cumulative Stats the higher the Bond that you have with them.
To grind for Bond points, include your target Digimon in your battle lineups. You can also talk to them while exploring or feed them in the Digifarm.

The advantage of Digivolution is not limited to Digivolving alone, but also in knowing the right way to use De-Digivolution. Let's say that a Digimon has Digivolved into a new form with some converted Cumulative Stats.
Once you De-Digivolve your Digimon, the amount of the converted Cumulative Stats will remain. If you Digivolve them again after maxing out their levels, they will obtain higher Cumulative Stat results compared to their first Digivolution.

After Digivolution, the Digimon's base stats will improve. Other than that, it will also obtain a set of Special Skills, which are moves unique to a particular Digimon.

Digivolving can also increase a Digimon's initial Talent Cap, which grants them a chance to unlock more levels.
How to Increase Level Cap and Talent Level

To digivolve and de-digivolve, you will need to meet a set of requirements first. Most Digimons will require you to attain a certain Agent Rank first, especially for higher generations. A certain amount of stats will also be needed, which you can enhance by using either the Enhancement Items or by leveling up your Digimon.

You can access the Digivolution menu by opening your Digivice. Afterwards, go to the Digimon icon, then look for Digivolution in the list.
