It is recommended to use the Guard command before a boss unleashes its powerful Special Skill. Even if the skill will kill you instantly in one hit, guarding allows you to withstand it.

Guarding is also effective when you want to defend against attacks from enemies with which you are at a disadvantage.

Attacks are less likely to go through against enemies of a disadvantageous Attribute, so focus on guarding and have your other battle member Digimon defeat them.

Using Guard reduces the damage you receive from enemies until the next turn. In exchange for giving up a Digimon's turn, your defense increases, making it effective when you cannot attack enemies wth an unfavorable Attribute.
