An Odd Letter can be unlocked during the The Final Battle Over the Natural Order Main Mission. You'll also need to finish the Side Missions, A Gift from the Hosts, Royal Knights, Assemble!, and Alpha and Omega, to unlock it.
Once the Side Mission is unlocked, you'll receive a message from Hiroko Sagisaka in your Digivice!
Meet Hiroko Sagisaka in Misono Detective Agency
To start An Odd Letter, Time Jump to Higashi-Shinjuku: Back Alley (Present Day), then take a taxi or head south to Shinjuku: East Shopping District and speak with Hiroko Sagisaka inside the Misono Detective Agency.

| 1 | You'll start in Marunonaka Line: Shinjuku Station. Head upstairs and exit to Seibu-Shinjuku: Overbridge Intersection, then continue north to reach the Wall of Hope. |
| 2 |  Investigate the rubble on the left side of Wall of Hope. During your conversation, you’ll be ambushed by Machinedramon. Before the battle begins, you can choose an ally from the Royal Knights. A team of Vaccine Type Digimon with Electricity and Earth skills is recommended for this fight, as Machinedramon is weak to both this attribute and these elements.
Aegiochusmon Holy is especially useful for this battle, as it can counter with strong Electricity damage using its Circlet Defense special skill.
It is also important to use buffs and debuffs such as Attack Charge or Guard Charge to strengthen your team, and Attack Bind or Guard Bind to weaken Machinedramon’s offense and defense.
