Devoted is the best path for Digimon who you plan to make into a hybrid healer and Magic DPS. Digimon like Mastemon and Valdurmon can appreciate the INT and SPI boost for more damage, healing and resistance ot other magic attacks.
Overprotective is Necessary for Harder Difficulties
The main goal for Overprotective is to get the Great Embrace Personality Skill. This allows you to Overheal ally Digimon, letting you survive strong hits so you can dish out your own.

Brave is your best bet for almost all Physical attacking Digimon. The boost in ATK and SP can help you focus in on dealing damage with this one Digimon.
Reckless is Amazing for Digimon With Counter Skills
Notable Digimon like Jesmon and Junomon have Counters built into their kits. Combo this out with Hate Charge and other support Digimon, and you can dish out damage without taking much yourself.

Sly or Astute for Magic Attacking Digimon
You can choose between Sly or Astute for Magic Attacking Digimon. Sly gives you an HP boost, but has the powerful Combo Magic Personality Skill which has a chance to double any Magic Cast by the user.
Astute will give you Speed and its Personality Skills meshes well with Nuke builds because it stacks well with the Brave status.
Strategic is Good for Healer Digimon
The main goal for Strategic to to get the Soothing Song Personality Skill. This allows you to heal ally Digimon's SP, since higher Stage Digimon can easily tear through their SP Bar with their Skills.

Opportunistic is Best for Debuffers
Debuffers like Venusmon meshes well with with Opportunistic as it has the Personality Skill, Planning Ahead. This automatically reduces DEF and SPI of all opponent Digimon depending on the total amount of Bond your party has.
Compassionate and Sociable are Amazing for Support
Compassionate and Sociable have some of the best Personality Skills, ranging from extending your buff and debuff duration, increasing your ATK based on HP, and boosting your own damage dealt after an ally hits an opponent's weakness.

When your Digimon is on the field and has a speech bubble icon next to them, interact with them to start a conversation. Each dialogue option can change the Digimon's Personality.
The Training Sets at the Digifarm also allow you to shift a Digimon's Personality and boost a specific stat. This is a more reliable method as it is a passive process.
