2 Hyokomon Image Hyokomon Evolve from Yokomon ✓ Has a Signature that Ignores Resistances.
✕ Needs a good amount of Digivolving and Dedigivolving to get to.
3 Agumon Image Agumon Evolve from Koromon ✓ Can quickly get Mega+ if you have Ultimate Edition.
✓ Series Mascot.
✕ There are other Digimon that can also get access to Greymon line.
4 Ryudamon Image Ryudamon Evolve from Tsunomon ✓ Earliest you can get Acceleration Boost.
✓ Moves have high Crit Chance.
✕ Low base attack.

Vaccine digimon are the best to carry around at the early-game due to most of the bosses being Virus Digimon. An honorable mention would be Tentomon since you need an Electric Digimon for a few quests.

2 Dracmon Image Dracmon Evolve from Tsumemon ✓ Has a Signature that heals itself.
✕ Would prefer to get to Beelzemon due to its ATK Growths.
3 Impmon Image Impmon Forgotten Rails, Tokyo Metropolitan Building ✓ Easy to obtain at the start
✕ Would prefer to get to Lilithmon or Mastemon due to its INT Growths
4 DemiDevimon Image DemiDevimon Starter Digimon ✓ Has a Signature that heals itself.
✓ Amazing INT Growths.
✕ Can be easily obtained, no need to choose it as your starter.
5 Hagurumon Image Hagurumon Evolve from Kapurimon ✓ Growths and Digivolutions synergize well together.
✓ Can end up as the new DNA Digivolution as Craniamon.
✕ Needs to switch its build to INT if planning to go to Craniamon.

2 Huckmon Image Huckmon Evolve from Nyaromon ✓ Synergizes well with Physical oriented teams.
✕ Needs a good amount of Talent to get to Jesmon.
3 Patamon Image Patamon Starter Digimon ✓ Best starter choice if invested into.
✓ Access to DNA and Armor Digivolutions.
✕ Needs CDs and Loading for Support Skills.
4 Elecmon Image Elecmon Evolve from Tsunomon ✓ Growths and Digivolutions synergize well together.
✓ Plot Relevance
✕ Aegiomon Line is super Late Game or NG+
5 Dracomon Image Dracomon Entrance, Tokyo Metropolitan Building ✓ Can be easily scanned and Loaded to 200%
✓ Growths and Digivolutions synergize well together.
✕ You need to build two to get it's final form, Examon.

Data Attribute Digimon are fine to have around, but do limit yourself to only getting one or two. You will struggle if you have too many in your party as a lot of Bosses will be Virus Attribute in the beginning.

Free and Unknown aren't that good at this point in the game due to their lack of Attribute effectiveness. They shine better when you can get them to Armor and DNA Digivolutions down the line.

The Keramon line does give you access to a Dark Type attacker, but that role can easily be covered by a lot of Virus Attribute Digimon like DemiDevimon or Dracmon.
