+Def / -Spd

The best IVs for Entwined Ash are +Def and -Spd. Def is Ash's primary stat and is the basis of Entwining Horn's multiple Def checks for effects.

Spd is a clear dump stat and can be safely taken as a bane as it will not impact any of Ash's matchups.

+Def for a +10 merge

We recommend +Def when merging Entwined Ash up to +10 to ensure she activates her Hardy Bearing effect against fully invested enemies.

Entwined Ash is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Entwined Ash Strengths

Entwining Horn grants multiple buffs to Ash and her allies

Entwined Ash's exclusive Entwining Horn grants 【Imbue】, 【Resonance: Shields】, and neutralizes foe's bonuses during combat to Ash, her support partner, and all allies within 2 spaces at the start of player and enemy phase.

In combat, if foe initiates combat or if Ash is transformed, Entwining Horn grants Ash up to Atk/Def/Res+14, bonus true damage, true damage reduction, and true damage reduction on Specials by 20% of Ash's Def, a guaranteed follow-up attack, and a Hardy Bearing effect if Ash wins a modified Def check.

Entwining Horn also has the standard Infantry Beast transformation which grants Ash Atk+2, +7 true damage on Specials, and a Tempo effect.

Entwining Horn is a great support weapon, granting multiple effects to Ash and her allies while retaining combat power with her bonus stats, true damage, and true damage reduction effects.

Heir of Openness grants damage reflection to Ash and allies

Entwined Ash's exclusive C skill Heir of Openness grants Ash an easier transformation condition, a Bulwark effect, and allows Ash's allies within 2 spaces to warp to spaces within 2 spaces of Ash.

Ash's support partner and all allies within 3 spaces of Ash are granted Atk/Def/Res+5, +7 true damage reduction, and damage reflection equal to 40% of the first attack damage dealt by foes.

In combat, Heir of Openness grants Ash Atk/Def/Res+5, +7 true damage, +7 true damage reduction, and damage reflection equal to 40% of her foe's first attack damage.

Granting damage reflection to Ash and her allies makes Heir of Openness a fantastic skill to equip, as damage reflection is one of the most powerful effects in FEH. The other effects are also quite good, ensuring that Ash and her allies all benefit from this skill.

Weak to Beast Effective Weapons

Entwined Ash takes 1.5x damage from beast-effective weapons like Brave Eliwood's Nini's Ice Lance or Picnic Flora's Sæhrímnir, and one blow from this type of weapon will deal significant damage. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!
