| What Kind of Character Are They? | ・A high bulk versatile demote unit. ・Obstinate Breath+ grants bonus stats, damage reduction on foe's first attack, and slows down foe's Special cooldown charges. |
|
Might: 14 Range: 1 If foe's Range = 2, calculates damage using the lower of foe's Def or Res. At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25%, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+5 to unit, reduces damage from foe's first attack by 15% of unit's Atk ("first attack" normally means only the first strike; for effects that grant "unit attacks twice," it means the first and second strikes), and inflicts Special cooldown charge -1 on foe per attack during combat (only highest value applied; does not stack). |
|
Cooldown Count = 4 Boosts damage dealt by 80% of unit’s Res. |
|
If foe initiates combat or foe's HP ≥ 75% at start of combat, grants Atk/Res+6 to unit during combat, and also, if foe's attack can trigger foe's Special and unit's Res ≥ foe's Res+9 during combat, inflicts Special cooldown count+1 on foe before foe's first attack. (Cannot exceed the foe's maximum Special cooldown.) |
|
If unit's HP ≥ 25% and foe initiates combat, neutralizes penalties on unit during combat and unit makes a guaranteed follow-up attack. |

When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Grima (M) are +Def or +Res and -Spd. Both stats are important for Grima (M) and which stat to take as a boon depends on his role on your team. a Near Save tank would prefer +Def, while a Far Save tank might prefer +Res.
Either way, -Spd is Grima's best bane as it is his least important stat.
We recommend +Def or +Res when merging Grima (M) up to +10 depending on his role on your team.

A premium Savior build can be acquired using Divine Codes 6. Both Near and Far Save are viable builds due to Grima's excellent mixed bulk.

This budget build uses Grima's base kit along with A/R Near Save 3 which is available from older Divine Codes. Warding Breath provides Special acceleration to easily rely on Glacies for damage.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Grima (M) is a close magic attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Res stat.
Grima (M) is a great demote unit with a min-maxed stat spread, making him an easily mergeable unit to bring up to +10 merges.
While his base kit isn't ideal, Divine Codes brings a lot of useful options, including Arcane Fell Arts which is his best weapon to equip as of the time of his release.

Grima (M)'s inheritable weapon Obstinate Breath+ grants him Atk/Spd/Def/Res+5, true damage reduction on his foe's first attack equal to 15% of Grima's Atk stat, and slows down his foe's Special cooldown charges per attack.
This weapon is nearly a functional remake of New Year Kana (F)'s New-Sun Stone+, except it gives Atk/Spd/Def/Res+5 instead of Atk/Spd/Def/Res+4. This has been a common trend - taking inheritable weapons only found on seasonal units and placing them on the regular summoning pool.
Obstinate Breath+ isn't as good as most exclusive weapons, or even Arcane weapons like Arcane Fell Arts. However, it is decent enough to work on a budget against PvE competition.
Grima (M) suffers from not having any unique skills to call his own, making him unable to stand out amongst other units. He requires significant investment in order to perform close to modern units with their own exclusive skills.
Armored dragons units are quite abundant in the game recently, and lacking an exclusive weapon makes Grima (M) replaceable by better units.
Grima (M) is yet another bulky armored dragon, and Intelligent Systems has released a handful of similar units recently. Grima (M) faces stiff competition from the likes of Valentine's Rhea, Fallen Alear (F), and even Grima (F) from the same banner who perform similar roles while having different effects that may fit better in certain team compositions.
Grima (F) takes 1.5x damage from armor-effective weapons like Randgríðr, and one blow from this type of weapon will deal significant damage. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!
Grima (F) takes 1.5x damage from dragon-effective weapons like Divine Mist, and one blow from this type of weapon will deal significant damage. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!

Grima (M) has Obstinate Breath+, Atk/Res Scowl 3, and Slick Fighter 3 as inheritable options.
We recommend merging Grima (M) up to +10 instead. Alternatively, he can be used as bridge fodder for Atk/Res Scowl 4 or Slick Fighter 4.
