Are they meta defining?

The Three Houses Summer heroes (along with Micaiah) are all meta-defining with their conditional brave effects and modern base kits.

Summer Edelgard is the best of the bunch with her unparalleled 3 movement as an armored unit and ability to create an additional action using Raging Storm.

Summer Dimitri comes in second with Atrocity adding true damage to each attack, up to four times with his brave weapon and high Spd.

Summer Claude is a 4-star obtainable hero with a very powerful skill in Fallen Star, which was previously only exclusive on his Legendary counterpart.

It is currently Fire Season month, and the most expected Fire Legendary heroes are these four.

Legendary Xander is the newest Fire Legendary and is a bonus unit. He is your standard Axe Cavalry, except with damage reduction, Null Follow-Up, and Canto.

Eitri is a Green Tome Flier with built-in Canto 2, a guaranteed follow-up attack, and damage reduction in her kit.

Legendary Celica and Legendary Edelgard are older units, but still formidable. The former is a Green Tome Infantry that can attack consecutively, while the latter is an Axe Armored unit that can perform multiple actions with Raging Storm and potentially Galeforce.

Since these two units have been present in multiple banners, and even together in some, expect high merges on them.

How to Counter

Legendary Xander has abysmal Res. Wait for him to approach and engage into him with a unit that deals magic damage.

Eitri is weak against bows, and her Canto is only active on turns 1-4. Either attack first with a bow unit, or avoid combat until turn 5 and then allow her to approach first before you engage.

Legendary Celica is a heavy hitter, but her bulk is subpar. Like Eitri, simply wait for her to approach first, then engage into her on your player phase.

Legendary Edelgard will not be running a movement increasing skill if built to have max scoring. Simply save her for later and defeat her allies first, then gang up on her.

If she has a movement skill, ensure that you defeat her in one round of combat to avoid Raging Storm from triggering. Alternatively, you can also attack her in player phase to take advantage of her lack of Spd.

Aether Raids

Meta-Defining Units

Edelgard - Sun Empresses IconSummer Edelgard

Thórr - Sun-Kissed Gods IconSummer Thórr
[9.0/10]

The Aether Raids (non-Chaos) meta remains unchanged from previous versions, except for the addition of the new Summer units.

Catria Balls and Sigurd Cavlines still reign supreme on Defense teams. Players should be prepared to deal with these Defense archetypes by preparing raiding parties that are specifically tailor-made to dismantle these archetypes.

Summer Edelgard is a new unit for Galeforce and Player Phase teams to abuse. Even with just her base kit, she can engage and defeat multiple enemies. By inheriting Galeforce onto her, she can clear up to three foes in one turn!

Summer Thórr is a catch-all support unit that deals with multiple prevalent strategies. Her Divine Whimsy inflicts 【Exposure】 and 【Stall】onto multiple foes.

Exposure is a penalty that allows foes to deal an extra 10 damage to the afflicted unit, while Stall is another penalty that penalizes effects that grant additional movement by restricting that unit's movement for that turn to 1.

Exposure deals with Savior units effectively by applying the extra 10 damage multiple times until the Savior wall is torn down. Stall, on the other hand, is useful against Sigurd Cavlines by turning the movement bonus effects of Holy-Knight Aura into a massive penalty that restricts the movement of the entire enemy team to 1!

How to Counter

As mentioned above, Summer Thórr is a fantastic new way to curb down Sigurd Cavlines by restricting the movement of the entire enemy team. She even carries Worldbreaker to boost the Special trigger of her allies!

To prepare your own Sigurd Cavline against raiding parties that bring Summer Thórr, field a staff unit that carries Odd Recovery 3 to cleanse the penalties away and leave your cavalry units unimpeded.

Catria Balls are still weak to Elimine's Staff of the Saint, providing an easy solution during Astra/Anima seasons. During Light/Dark seasons, however, players are required to either outplay the Catria Ball by only baiting a small number of enemies, or by creating an omnitank that can survive and defeat multiple foes in one enemy phase.

To prepare your Defense team against Summer Edelgard, ensure that you field a unit that wins the Heavy Blade check against her. This prevents her from accelerating her Special and activating a potential Galeforce.
