How to Defeat Skulltula (The Giant Spider)

Strategy

Skulltula hanging from web

How to Beat Skulltula
While it is hanging from the ceiling, cut down the thread to make it fall. Use vertical spin attack to make it fall on its back, then use Fatal Blow. You can also turn it around while it is hanging then strike the purple orb behind it.

Skulltulas are giant spider enemies that won't attack unless approached. Since they do not react until the player approaches, you will have plenty of time to plan your attacks. The most important thing to note is that their hard back is impervious to all attacks, so they can only be defeated by thrusting your sword into their soft underbelly.

Cutting the Skulltula down

If you cut the single thread of web the Skutulla is on using your Beetle, it will fall down to the floor. Players can then do a vertical slash upwards to knock the giant spider on its back, making it susceptible to a fatal blow.

Hanging Skulltula

While the Skulltula is hanging on it's web, you can attack it with a horizontal slash. This will cause the giant spider to spin around revealing its nucleus. Becareful as your slash attack will cause the Skulltula to violently move around.

Once it calms down, thrust your sword into the nucleus a few times to defeat the Skulltula.
