Players have been experiencing a bug in Modern Warfare 2 where they can't start ot enter a Private Lobby. Read on to learn more about this bug and how to fix it.

Private Lobby Error Bugs

Private Lobbies are a great way for players to test out new loadouts, attachments, skins, and equipment, without the stress of fighting other players. However, several Dev Errors (292, 11642, 401) have been appearing that makes it impossible to enter a Private Lobby. This bug has been affecting players on all platforms.

How to Fix

Addressed in the November 22 Patch

This bug was addressed by Infinity Ward and fixed in the Season 1 November 22 patch, so you should hopefully see it pop up less often. If the error still pops up, you can use the following methods to fix it.

Change Custom Frame Rate Limit from Custom to Unlimited

One way to fix this error is by heading to your Settings and changing your Custom Frame Rate Limit from Custom to Unlimited. This can be found in the Graphics tab, under Display settings.

Set Spot Cache to Small or Medium

Another way to fix this error is to head into your Settings and set your Spot Cache size to either Small or Medium. This can also be found in the Graphics tab, under Shadow & Lighting settings.

Briefly Enter a Public Multiplayer Game

You can also enter a Public Multiplayer game to fix this error. Make sure you've already spawned in before exiting, then you should be able to start a Private Lobby.
