The Dolphin Dive is a movement technique that allows players to transition from Sprint to Prone by diving in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Read on to learn how to use the Dolphin Dive, its advantages, and more!
The Dolphin Dive is a useful evasive maneuver that was first introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010). Essentially, the Dolphin Dive allows players to quickly transition from Sprint to Prone by diving towards a certain direction.
While it is indeed a useful technique, it is not recommended for game modes that require a stealthy approach in order to secure an objective. The player also cannot fire a weapon during this motion as it requires a fairly quick recovery time upon landing.

Much like the Playstation's controls, XBOX players can Dolphin Dive by sprinting through the Left Thumbstick (Movement) and holding the B button (Crouch) in a sequential manner.
Instead of holding the B button (Crouch), a player can opt to press it in order to do the slide mechanic.
The Dolphin Dive maneuver is a great way of achieving objectives in multiplayer matches. This can be used to capture strongholds in Domination or secure key locations in Hardpoint.
Dolphin Diving is an effective technique that exhibits unpredictability, allowing an Operator to gain the upper hand. During this motion, the player is able to change their stance and catch enemies off guard.
