Should You Lock or Unlock Research?

Locked Research Helps Beginner Progress

Research

Locking your research only means you must progress through the game and its tutorials to unlock schematics for better gear. Suppose you are new to Dune: Awakening and are unfamiliar with the game's items. In that case, seeing all these items with no foundation for building up to them may be overwhelming.

Unlocked Research for Advanced Players

When your research is unlocked, you can craft most items immediately after you have enough materials for them. This is most helpful when you know how to progress through the game.

Though there are no longer quest requirements to unlock schematics, it is important to note that there are schematics still locked by your intel spent, so you still need to farm for intel.
