Touring the Gap Walkthrough

Touring the Gap Objectives
1. Explore the Eastern Vermillius Gap
2. Explore the Western Vermillius Gap

Touring the Gap is an exploration mission to survey Vermillius Gap and travel around the area. It is divided into two short quests, split between the two central locations of Vermillius Gap.

Note that you don't have to follow the order of steps to clear the objectives!

Explore the Eastern Vermillius Gap

Step Guide

Eastern Vermillius Gap Survey
With a survey probe and launcher, go to a high area in Eastern Vermillius Gap to survey the area. We recommend going to the location where Zantara was last seen in the Across the Gap questline.

Anvil Tradepost
After surveying the area, we recommend going to The Anvil Tradepost immediately to stock up on materials and potentially even upgrade the sandbike.

Note: Going to the tradepost first will also let you accept contracts to accomplish them while exploring.

Southeast Ironworks
Move to Southeast Ironworks by going south of Anvil Tradepost. You just have to pass by the area, as it will still clear the objective by being near the location.

Imperial Testing Station No. 10
Lastly, go to the far right of Eastern Vermillius Gap to find Imperial Testing Station No. 10.

Note: There are a lot of quicksand and drumsand spots scattered across the desert on the way there, so be careful not to get eaten by the sandworm.

Explore the Western Vermillius Gap

Step Guide

Western Vermillius Gap Survey
Go to a high location in Western Vermillius Gap to survey the area. We recommend doing this in the Southwest Ironworks as this is a nearby location to Eastern Vermillius Gap.

Imperial Testing Station No. 197
After surveying the area, go to the Imperial Testing Station No. 197 as it is the closest objective from the Eastern Vermillius Gap.

Flatrock Outpost
From Imperial Testing Station No. 197, head towards the west to go to Flatrock Outpost. Be careful on the way to the location as there are quicksand and drumsand spots that can be dangerous together with sandworms.

Wreck of Pallas
After Flatrock Outpost, move to The Wreck of the Pallas. It is up north in Western Vermillius Gap, so be wary of players and sandworms while on the way.
Note If you first started the mission in Western Vermillius Gap, you can reverse the order to transition to the Eastern Vermillius Gap efficiently. The order is not important as you can still clear the objectives.
