Blazing a Trail Start Quest Location

Outskirts of Gullthorp, Svartalfheim

Assassin
The quest begins right after you finish the previous quest, Cold Embers. Eysa has gone after Calder, who also carries the relic that Havi seeks. Havi then follows the blazing trail that the two Muspels have left behind.

No.	Objectives	Guide
1	Head North	Head north through the woods until you reach a lava pool. Use Odin's Sight to highlight the three clues. You'll need to use the Power of Muspelheim to reach some clues.
2	Head West	Head west and across the river. Use Odin's Sight again to highlight the two clues. Then, head northwest up the hill and you'll see a few more lava pools.
3	Clear the Jotuns	Clear this area of Jotuns first so you can safely investigate for clues. Highlight them and once you've found all 4 clues. Head further up the hill.
4	Follow the trail	Follow the path leading up the hill while following the trail. You can highlight the trail by using Odin's Sight but no need to interact with them.
5	Check on Eysa	Eventually, you'll find a fork in a road and a ruin with a wide open space. Eysa will be there and speak to her to start a cutscene.
6	Defeat Calder	Defeat Calder and then a cutscene will follow. Afterwards, the quest ends. Don't forget to pick up the Dane Axe, Calder's Fury, from Calder's body! Check here to see tips versus Calder!

Avoid Calder's AOE

Assassin
Calder will run to the center of the arena and create a massive hazard zone where the floor is lava. You can avoid this entirely by just sticking to the eastern sides of the arena.

During this part, you can sneak in some headshots or shoot at his weak points with your bow.

He Recovers From Stagger Faster

Assassin
Unlike most enemies, Calder can recover from staggers coming from your attacks and hit you with his own by using a Rune Attack.

However, you can use this to your advantage if you dodge while you have the Brush With Death Skill, so you can weave in a few more hits.
