1. Pickpocket the Armored Guard

Use Eagle Vision to find the armored guard that has the Tax Collector's Mansion Door key. This guard is usually located on the back side of the mansions and moves near the haystack hiding spot.

You can pickpocket or assassinate him and loot the key to obtain it.

Use Blowdart and Pickpock the Key to Get a Trophy

If you use a blowdart and pickpocket the key from the armored guard, you can get the You Snooze, You Lose trophy.

2. Open the Locked Door on the Second Floor

Head to the second floor of the tall building and head to the right side to find the brown locked door. Use the key to open the door to reach the room that has the gear chest inside.
