Unlock the Blowdart as your second tool as you can use it to quickly assassinate asleep enemies. Asleep enemies function the same way as knocked down enemies so you can instantly kill them.
You can also use this tool to distract enemies. If another enemy finds a sleeping enemy, they will move away from their area or patrol route to investigate. This allows you to slip past them unseen.
In addtion, a Blowdart is required to complete the missable You Snooze, You Lose achievement. This achivement requires you to pickpocket a sleeping guard.

The trap functions the same way as the smoke bomb as you can use it to quickly escape from combat. Other upgrade options allow you to use it as a remote bomb that detonates by whistling.

The Throwing Knife is the first combat tool you'll unlock in the game and is arguably the most versatile tool in Basim's arsenal.
This tool allows you to assassinate enemies in range, as well as interact with environmental objects such as cutting the ropes of overhanging crates to crush enemies underneath.
We recommend investing in the Sharp Blade upgrade as soon as you can to increase your damage with this tool.

The Sparks upgrade turns the tool into an incediary device, allowing you to inflict fire damage to enemies. While Shockwave dazes all targets inside the Noisemaker's explosion range.
You can unlock a new tool after finishing the Old Wounds main quest. After assassinating Al-Ghul and reuniting with Nehal in Abnar, return to the Harbiyah Bureau and Abu Jafar will allow you to pick 1 new tool.
You can start upgrading tools after completing the quest Zeroing In which requires you to investigate 3 leads regarding Ali Ibn Muhammad's capture.
Once you return to the Harbiyah Bureau, you can speak with Abu Jafar to upgrade your tools.
