Independent, resourceful and fascinated by all things ancient, Nehal had been at Basim's side for as long as either of them could remember. Fiercely protective, she was Basim's ally in his struggles with the jinni and yearned to see him freed of his burden. Yet their close relationship was strained by Basim's desire to join the Hidden Ones.

Nehal is the first character you encounter in Assassin's Creed Mirage. She assists Basim to fulfill a contract during The Master Thief of Anbar main story quest, and is who kickstarts his journey and eventual induction to the Hidden Ones.

Basim's Repressed Memories

AC Mirage - Basim
As revealed in the final mission In Pursuit of Truth, Nehal is in fact Basim's repressed memories of his previous life as the Isu Loki.

Much like how the Jinni is a memory of Loki's traumatic experience in imprisonment, Nehal is simply a manifestation of his previous life with many of his conversations with her revealed to be Basim talking to himself as he begins to question the reality he lives in.

A look back at Nehal's previous dialogue where she features reveals that she, as Basim's repressed memories, have been subtly urging Basim to learn more about himself and his past life.

Merges with Basim in the Ending

AC Mirage - Merges with Basim in the Ending

After Basim finally overcomes the Jinni, Nehal merges with Basim during the ending of Assassin's Creed Mirage.

This causes Basim to re-emerge as Loki and marks a significant change in his demeanor. As the ending shows, Loki is now the dominant personality housed within Basim.
