| What Kind of Character Are They? | ・Ethereal Gungnir copies all non-stat Bonuses on the map and grants them to Alfaðör, deals pre-combat damage to foes within 3Rx3C, denies their follow-ups, and inflicts a modified Scowl effect onto them, grants Alfaðör bonus stats, true damage, true DR, and a Special jumping effect. ・Covetous One has built-in Canto and Shadow Smite, inflicts Exposure and Discord onto pultiple foes, and copies all Bonus effects on Alfaðör to a target ally after using a Rally or movement Assist. |
|
Might: 14 Range: 2 Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count-1). After start-of-turn effects trigger on player phase or enemy phase, grants any 【Bonus】 effects active on foes and allies on the map, excluding stat bonuses, to unit for 1 turn. For foes within 3 rows or 3 columns centered on unit, deals X damage to foe as combat begins (effects that reduce damage "during combat" do not apply; will not reduce foe's HP below 1), inflicts Atk/Spd/Def/Res-X on foe and foe cannot make a follow-up attack during combat, and also, if foe's attack can trigger foe's Special, inflicts Special cooldown count + X ÷ 3 on foe before foe's first attack during combat (cannot exceed the foe's maximum Special cooldown). At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25%, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+X × 2 to unit, deals damage = 20% of unit's Res (excluding area-of-effect Specials), and reduces damage from foe's attacks by 20% of unit's Res during combat (excluding area-of-effect Specials), and also, if unit's attack can trigger unit's Special, grants Special cooldown count - X ÷ 3 to unit before unit's first attack during combat. (X = turn number + number of 【Bonus】 effects active on unit; excluding stat bonuses; max 9). |
|
Range: 1 Grants Atk +6 to target ally and allies within 2 spaces of target (excluding unit) for 1 turn. |
|
Cooldown Count = 4 Boosts damage by 70% of unit's Res when Special triggers. If unit's or foe's Special is ready, or unit's or foe's Special triggered before or during this combat, and also, if unit's Res ≥ foe's Res-10, reduces damage from foe's next attack by 40% (once per combat; excluding area-of-effect Specials). |
|
If unit initiates combat or is within 3 spaces of an ally, grants bonus to unit's Atk/Res = unit's maximum Special cooldown count + 7 during combat, and also, when unit's Special triggers, deals damage = unit's maximum Special cooldown count × X (excluding area-of-effect Specials; if unit triggers the "unit attacks twice" effect, X = 3; otherwise, X = 5). |
|
At start of turn, and after unit acts (if Canto triggers, after Canto), inflicts 【Def Shackle】 and 【Res Shackle】 on closest foes and foes within 2 spaces of those foes through their next actions. Inflicts Def/Res-4 on foe and deals damage = number of【Penalty】effects active on foe, excluding stat penalties, × 2, + 7 during combat (max 15; excluding area-of-effect Specials). |
|
Enables 【Canto (Rem.; Min 1)】. When Canto triggers, enables unit to use 【Smite】 on ally (this effect is not treated as an Assist skill; if similar effects are active, this effect does not trigger). At start of turn and after unit acts (if Canto triggers, after Canto), if any foes within 3 rows or 3 columns centered on unit have Res < unit's Res+5, inflicts Atk/Res-7, 【Exposure】, and 【Discord】 on those foes through their next actions. If a Rally or movement Assist skill is used by unit, deals 1 damage to target ally and grants any Bonus effects active on unit to target ally for 1 turn (excluding stat bonuses; once per turn). At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25%, grants Atk/Res+5 to unit, unit deals +7 damage (excluding area-of-effect Specials), and reduces damage from foe's attacks by 7 during combat (excluding area-of-effect Specials). |

When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Alfaðör are +Res and -Spd. Res is the basis of Alfaðör's stat checks and is also Alfaðör's most important stat at a base 50, allowing him to shrug off most magical attacks with ease.
While Alfaðör's Def is low, we recommend -Spd instead as Def has become quite an important stat in today's metagame. Alfaðör's Spd is also lackluster, unable to prevent follow-up attacks against all the fast metagame foes. Lowering it will not impact any of his matchups.

Alfaðör's base kit already functions well as an all-purpose unit who can fulfill all three of offense, defense, and support. We opted for Emblem Corrin Ring for role compression, but most Emblem Rings work well on Alfaðör.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Alfaðör is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Res stat.
Alfaðör's Ethereal Gungnir takes all 【Bonus】 effects active on the map and grants them to Alfaðör himself after start-of-turn effects trigger on either phase. Both the team's and the foe's bonuses are copied, making Alfaðör inherently more powerful simply by existing.
【Bonus】 effects are very popular in today's metagame as they make up the bulk of each unit's strength. Alfaðör copying all of them with little to no effort is one of the most powerful effects in the game right now, making him a very formidable unit on the battlefield.
Ethereal Gungnir also has other effects that add to its power, further cementing Alfaðör as a powerful unit. Below is a summary of all of its effects:
| Condition(s) | Effect |
|---|---|
| Always | ・Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count-1). |
| After start-of-turn effects trigger on either phase | ・Grants Alfaðör all 【Bonus】 effects active on foes and allies on the map, excluding stat bonuses. |
| For all foes within 3 rows and 3 columns centered on Alfaðör | ・Deals X pre-combat damage to foe. ・Inflicts Atk/Spd/Def/Res-X on foe during combat. ・Foe cannot make a follow-up attack. ・If foe has an offensive Special, inflicts a Scowl effect on the foe equal to X ÷ 3. |
| Alfaðör's HP ≥ 25% at start of combat | ・Grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res + X x 2 to Alfaðör during combat. ・Grants Alfaðör bonus true damage and true damage reduction equal to 20% of his Res. ・If Alfaðör has an offensive Special, grants Special cooldown count - X ÷ 3 to Alfaðör before his first attack. |
X = turn number + number of 【Bonus】 effects active on unit; excluding stat bonuses; max 9
Alfaðör's exclusive C skill Covetous One has built-in Shadow Smite and inflicts Atk/Res-7, 【Exposure】, and 【Discord】 onto foes within 3 rows and 3 columns at start of turn and after each of Alfaðör's actions.
In combat, Covetous One grants Alfaðör Atk/Res+5, +7 true damage, and +7 true damage reduction.
More importantly, if a Rally or movement Assist skill is used by Alfaðör, Covetous One deals 1 damage to the target ally and copies all non-stat Bonus effects from Alfaðör onto the target ally.
With Ethereal Gungnir copying every Bonus effect on the map, Alfaðör can buff up an ally tremendously with its copy effect.
Alfaðör is reliant on the Bonus effects he copies with Ethereal Gungnir in order to turn into a formidable unit.
Effects that neutralize or even steal Bonus effects can heavily hinder him and reduce his combat potential.
As a flying unit, Alfaðör takes 1.5x damage from bows and weapons effective on flying units. Be sure to keep them out of the range of archers and leave them to other units.

Alfaðör has Rally Up Atk+, Ice Wall, Atk/Res Aria, and Def/Res Shackle as inheritable options.
All of these skills are very strong and worth inheriting onto your favorite units. However, we recommend keeping at least one copy of Alfaðör in your barracks, as he is among the strongest heroes in the game as of the time of his release.

I don't agree with the 9.9 ranking for this unit; I find Alfaoor to be a pretty mediocre nuker and support unit as opposed to many of the modern units. In terms of combat, he loses to common saves like B! Eik or Legendary BK. His unique C skill is really just a glorified Shadow Shift with generic debuff support, and the only unique thing Alfaoor really possesses is his ability to take all bonuses; however, in most scenarios, this isn't significant enough for him win much needed matchups.
