All of the Brave Heroes in this year's Choose Your Legends banner are meta-defining. Brave Byleth (F) reintroduces Vantage strategies into the metagame with her Divine Pulse and Spd Preempt 3, Brave Seliph hits hard, moves 4 spaces, and can survive one round of combat with his Holytide Tyrfing's Miracle effect, Brave Tiki (Adult) can deny Special skills like no other, and Brave Chrom can copy his allies' buffs and use them for himself.
Rearmed Líf is a strong hero himself, but the real meta-defining part is his Arcane Éljúðnir being inheritable. This opens up a better option for older heroes with weak or no exclusive weapons. A hero like Zephiel can become a formidable Near Save unit when given this weapon.
Flame Tribe Tana can grant Canto to her nearby allies with her Kindling Taiko. This opens up a whole new set of strategies when used properly. A Wings of Mercy team can position themselves properly for allies to warp in, for example.

It is currently Earth Season month followed by a Water Season month, and these are the heroes we expect to see the most in Arena aside from the usual suspects like Valentine's Chrom and Ninja Corrin (F).
Legendary Claude is indirectly buffed with the introduction of Spd/Def Hold on Flame Tribe Tana. This is one of the best C skills for him in Arena with its 300 SP scoring and utility for both himself and his team. Additionally, Deadeye is more easily available through Shinon in the orb pack bonus.
Legendary Deirdre is the newest Legendary hero for Earth season. Her Circlet of Balance Special skill can potentially allow her to survive a lethal attack at 1 HP, which can definitely ruin some Arena runs.
Legendary Chrom is a well-known menace with his To Change Fate! making AI prediction a bit more difficult and potentially leading to one of your units getting sniped.
Legendary Azura has an improved refresh skill in Gray Waves II which grants an extra action, bonus movement, and 【Null Panic】 to ensure that the bonuses from refined Prayer Wheel stick. She makes AI prediction difficult as well.
Legendary Claude does not have his Fallen Star active until he attacks in combat. Bait him out and engage him in player phase to avoid his immense damage reduction.
Legendary Deirdre can be approached in the same way. The Miracle effect of Circle of Balance is only active if her Special is ready or triggered, and if she initiates combat or is fighting a ranged opponent. Both of these conditions need to be met, thus, attacking her first with a melee hero automatically denies the Miracle effect.
Legendary Chrom can be countered by being aware of threat ranges and ensuring that his AI does not activate To Change Fate!. Position your units so that when the enemies approach, none of them are both in your threat range and in Chrom's range to activate his Assist.
Additionally, most Chrom builds in Arena have dropped Close Counter, allowing you to approach him with melee units and attack without fear of retaliation.
Legendary Azura is also countered by keeping your units away from extended ranges where an enemy refreshed with Gray Waves II can reach. You can then attack stragglers one by one, leaving Azura last for your bonus unit to defeat.

The Aether Raids (non-Chaos) meta remains unchanged from previous versions, especially with the lack of a new Mythic.
Catria Balls and Sigurd Cavlines still reign supreme on Defense teams. Players should be prepared to deal with these Defense archetypes by preparing raiding parties that are specifically tailor-made to dismantle these archetypes.
The four units shown above are recent additions to the metagame. Medeus is already a significant part of the metagame, but becomes much more important due to new skills released.
Brave Chrom opens up new player phase strategies with his ability to copy buffs on allies when using his A Fate Changed! assist. Common allies that pair with him include Brave Seliph and Yuri for +1 movement and Null Follow-Up (through Brave Chrom's Inf. Null Follow 3 in Yuri's case).
Brave Byleth (F) will be a common ranged unit paired up with Near Save tanks in a Vantage strategy. The Near Save armored unit will protect her from melee attacks while her Spd Preempt 3 defeats the ranged enemies before they can deal significant damage to Byleth herself.
Flame Tribe Tana provides Canto to her nearby allies, opening up new strategies that require positioning. Hit and Run strategies become more feasible with better retreating options post-combat, while Galeforce strategies become easier with post-combat repositioning to allow allies to warp in with Wings of Mercy 3.
Medeus is already a staple unit in the metagame with his defensive bulk, but with Flame Tribe Tana's team-wide Canto buffs as well as Brave Chrom and Brave Seliph having Canto in their kits, his Canto Control 3 is more important than it once was.
Brave Chrom still requires him to approach your team in order to perform on offense. Beefing up your frontline should help minimize the damage he can do. Units like Medeus and Ascended Idunn are perfect because they attack his lower Res stat.
Brave Byleth (F) will have trouble against faster enemies because her Spd Preempt 3 requires her to outspeed in order to trigger the Vantage effect. Using offensive units with multiple Spd buffing skills may lead to Byleth being outsped. Alternatively, you may opt to equip Hardy Bearing 3 on one of your units in order to bypass the Vantage effect.
Flame Tribe Tana is a fantastic support option, but her combat isn't overwhelmingly superior compared to other metagame units. Running a unit with Canto Control 3 can deter opponents from bringing her into the map entirely.
Medeus is commonly found in Catria Ball teams as his presence deters offensive player phase strategies reliant on Canto effects and prevents the ball from getting worn down by splash damage effects and Bolt Towers.
Bring a Save Ball composition and position in such a way where only a small number of units can engage into the ball. Don't force the entire ball to attack in one turn, as your tanks cannot withstand multiple attacks boosted by the Triangle Attack buff that Bridal Catria provides.
