How to Get Bug Net
Beedle's Shop in Skyloft
The Bug Net can be obtained by buying it from Beedle's Shop for 50 Rupees.

How to Use Bug Net
How to Use from Inventory
Press and Hold the ZR Button
Hold down the ZR Button on the Right Joy-Con to bring up the Items menu. Point the controller at the Bug Net and let go of the ZR Button to equip it.
Press the ZR Button and Swing
Once you have equipped the Bug Net, press the ZR Button to sheathe your sword and use it. Then, swing with your R Stick or your right Joy-Con to catch objects.
How to Use Button and Motion Controls
Catch Bugs
Your Bug Net is your primary tool in catching bugs. While having your Bug Net equipped, carefully approach bugs and swing the Bug Net to catch them. Note that swinging your Bug Net will scare off nearby bugs, so handle with care.
You can also track bugs easily by equipping a Bug Medal.
Collect Tumbleweeds and Bird Feathers
Aside from Bugs, you can also collect upgrade materials such as Tumbleweeds and Bird Feathers with Bug Net. Tumbleweeds can be found in Lanayru Desert, while Bird Feathers can be found in Faron Woods.
Scoop Fairies
Bug Nets are also a way for you to catch Fairies. You need an Empty Bottle to stock it.
