Gwin's Arts primarily focus on dealing Ranged damage to targets. This build includes the use of Gunforce as an initial buff to his Arts.

Flash Grenade allows Gwin to apply Blackout and temporarily flinch targets, followed by his primiary Arts including Furious Blast, Grenade Blitz and Takedown Shot.

Medic Free provides some reviving fallback to Gwin should he be taken out while Tornado Blade can assist in Overdrive for color combos.

Gwin's main issue with his kit is the lack of supporting skills and conflicting kit preferences as most of his Arts are Ranged while his Skills are primarily buffing melee.

This means the only viable Skills for Gwin in this build are Healing Aura for survivability, Theroid Slayer for some damage boost against Theroid enemy-types and Conflagrant Edge to support his Thermal-attribute Arts.

Best Role During Combat

Ranged Starter Character

Gwin is an attack character oriented towards Ranged offensives. Despite this however, he has conflicting Arts, Skills and even his Class as a Samurai Gunner makes him easy to replace with better characters like Elma, Murderess or Neilnail in the Definitive Edition.

One of the few advantages of using Gwin is that he is available early-game and can be used immediately but further down the mid-game to late-game, Gwin can be replaced with other characters.
