How to Clear Squad Tasks
- Connect to Server
- Create or Join a Squad
- Open the Navigation Panel
- Open the Map to Check the Targets
Connect to Server
To access Squad Tasks and other online features of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, open the pause menu and then Connect to Server as shown above. Do note that you need Nintendo Switch Online for online play.
Create or Join a Squad
After connecting to the server, the Squad Select menu will appear. You can either join other squads (Quick Assignment or Play with Friends) or play in a private squad.
Private Squad Multiplayer Message Board
Open the Navigation Panel
Once you joined a squad already, open the Navigation Panel by pressing the R button and then find the Squad Tasks tab. If you created a private squad, you will need to wait for a couple of seconds before Xenoblade Chronicles X displays the Squad Tasks as shown above.
Squad Tasks Have a 1 Hour Time Limit
Squad Tasks have a limit of one hour. The available Squad Tasks will refresh regardless if the squad finishes all of them or not.
Open the Map to Check the Targets
Tracking Squad Task targets is easy since they are already marked on your map (S icon) as shown in the image above. We recommend splitting up the tasks for each members of the squad to finish all of them much faster!
In the overworld, enemies or collectibles required for a certain Squad Task will also have an S icon floating above them.
Squad Task Rewards
Earn Material Tickets
Material Tickets can be obtained after clearing a single task. Material Tickets can be used to buy materials from the Material Market. The Material Market can be accessed after opening the pause menu, online tab, and then the rewards tab.
Reward for Completing All Squad Tasks
If your squad completes all the Squad Tasks within an hour, everyone will earn extra Material Tickets as a reward.
What Are Squad Tasks?
Random Tasks You Can Do With Friends
Squad tasks are randomized objectives that are available for your squad to do for an hour. Each tasks rewards the squad with Material Tickets. There are only 5 Squad Tasks available per hour!
2 Squad Task Types: Hunt or Gather
There are two types of Squad Tasks. Hunt requires you to hunt a a species of enemies or Tyrants for a certain number of times. The other type requires you to gather a specific amount of collectibles!
