Xenoblade Chronicles X - How to Change Appearance
To change your appearance in Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, you need to complete complete two missions in chapters 3 and 5. Learn which missions will allow you to change appearance and where you can find the machine to change appearance.

How to Change Appearance

Unlock Yardley's Hideaway with 2 Missions

Mission Chapter Description
Yardley's Scheme Chapter 3 (Clear) Yardley is looking for materials to repair a machine.
House of Cards Chapter 5 (Clear) Find and return the lost keycard to the designated location at the designated time to receive a reward 100,000 credits.

To be able to change appearance, you will need to complete two missions first that can be encountered after clearing chapter 3 and chapter 5.

After you are able to unlock Yardley's Hideaway, you'll find a machine that allows you to change your character’s appearance — including gender and voice — during the late night period (0:00 – 04:59).

Keep in mind that your name cannot be changed, so choose carefully at the start.

After completing the required missions the machine that will allow you to change your appearance can be found underneath the Administrative District.

How to Find Change Appearance Machine

Restricted Hangar District
Fast travel to Restricted Hangar Entrance.

Jump to the Water
Head West until you reach the edge and jump into the water

Appearance Change Landmark
Head east until you find a small area with some crates. The machine will be behind the crates.
