Armor are defensive equipment for characters and Skells in Xenoblade Chronicles X. Read on to see the list of all armor, how to obtain armor, how to equip armor, and more!
List of Contents
Armor can be obtained by buying them from the shop terminal. This method is the simplest and best way to obtain armor in the game.
Armor can also be obtained via loots from enemies. However, this doesn't happen often and does require players to grind for a long time for them.
Armor can also be found in Tresure Boxes. Treasure boxes can be dropped by enemies after defeating them or discovered in a few areas in Mira.
Between defeating enemies and exploring areas to get Treasure Boxes, it's easier to just go exploring since it doesn't necessarily involve fighting.
Crafting Armor is another way to obtain them. Armor can be crafted using the AM Terminal in Armory Alley after obtaining the required materials for the armor, which can be obtained by defeating enemies or completing missions.
Armor can be equipped by accessing the Ground Gear menu from the Party tab, selecting the desired character, and then choosing the type of armor to equip.
From that menu, players can now equip their desired armor.

Each type of armor follows a naming scheme that depends on the manufacturer and wear type.
For example, a Light-type head armor manufactured by Sakuraba Industries will have Visor in it's name. On the other hand, if the head armor of the same type is manufactured by Six Stars, it will be called Mask instead.
Armor that have an Advanced and Worn versions have resistance stats are the same for all versions.
For example, Survival Glove R, Worn Survival Glove R, and Advanced Survival Glove R all have the same resistance stats.
Gwin's Bodywear and Lin's Bodywear are the same armor.
Only the base version of the armor has fixed additional effects. This effect can be upgraded multiple times, increasing its potency.
Worn and Advanced versions of the armor will have random additional effects. The number of additional effects are also random, allowing for more build options.
