Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition

What is Stability

Xenoblade Chronicles X - What is Stability
Stability in Xenoblade Chronicles X determines how consistent a weapon's damage output is during combat. This guide explains how Stability works and shows you ways to increase or decrease it to suit your playstyle.

What is Stability?

Determines Weapon Damage Consistency

Xenoblade Chronicles X - Stability
In Xenoblade Chronicles X, Stability determines how consistent your weapon's damage output is.

For example, as shown in the image above, if a weapon has 56 damage and a Stability of ±3, it will deal damage within the range of 53-59, providing a consistent and reliable output.

Higher Stability values result in wider damage fluctuations, causing your attacks to hit much lower or higher than expected. In contrast, lower Stability values mean less variation, keeping your damage closer to the weapon's listed attack power, offering more predictable and reliable damage, which can be critical in long battles or against tough foes where every hit counts.

How to Boost or Reduce Stability

Augments

Augment Type Effect
Destabilizer Weapon Mod Reduces weapon stability by 10/12/14/16/18%.
Stabilizer Weapon Mod Boosts weapon stability by 10/12/14/16/18%.
Custom WP-DESTABLE Weapon Mod Reduces Skell weapon stability by 10/12/14/16/18%.
Custom WP-STABLE Weapon Mod Boosts Skell weapon stability by 10/12/14/16/18%.

The values displayed in the table are only for the 1st five (5) levels of the augment.

Using Augments like Stabilizer can boost Stability for more predictable and reliable damage, which is great for longer battles or precision strategies. Meanwhile, Destabilizer augment lowers Stability, making your damage more unpredictable but potentially hitting harder on the upper end of the range.

Skell Augments that boost or reduce stability include Custom.WP-STABLE and Custom.WP-DESTABLE.
