Xenoblade Chronicles X features 16 different classes that shapes combat style and available abilities. The main protagonist starts as the base class, Drifter, and can accumulate Class Experience Points (Class EXP) to access the classes on higher tiers.

Advancing through classes in different branches and tiers unlocks new Arts and Skills, allowing for a customizable playstyle that suits your preferences.

Drifter is the starting class for Cross, the main protagonist of Xenoblade Chronicles X, from which the other classes stem. Access to this class allows Cross to specialize in every other class by "mastering" its base class.

It can equip up to five Skills mastered from other classes, making it the most versatile class in the endgame.

The last class exclusive to Cross is the Galactic Knight. This class is the ultimate support of the game, being able to heal the entire party, remove debuffs, and apply both damage and defense buffs.

How to Change Classes

Change Classes By Ranking Up

To change your class in Xenoblade Chronicles X, you first need to Level Up Drifter to Rank 10.

After getting Drifter to Rank 10, three more classes will unlock so you can specialize further. You can switch classes freely from the Classes Menu in-game.
